Frederick Wellington is Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia-based singer/composer & lyrics maker.  If you have followed his career of Wellington so far, then you will be familiar with his two previous album offerings namely “I GOT MIXED” and “TIME WAITS FOR NO MAN” and yes time is certainly a luxury as Wellington is using his time properly as he gears up for the release of his third album  “MAKE PEACE WITH YOUR PAST”.  First and foremost, I love his titles because they come from a positive place of pure spirit. It is essentially important to make peace with your past by forgiving yourself for the wrongs and deleting any baggage that has held you back. The present is a gift and as time waits for no man or woman for that matter. We take note that the future is a mystery and what we do with our present, and the choices we make determine our future. So, back to the present. Wellington’s brand new song The New Girl taken from his forthcoming 3rd album gives everything and more. So, we decided to check out the man behind the legend with an exclusive interview for you readers…

What inspired you to get into music?
Even as a kid, I always listen to songs that now had become evergreen. Elvis Prestley, The Beatles, and many more. But what inspired me to get into music is my dad. He composed a song for my aunty & then deep inside me I wanted to try to compose a song & sang my own song. I made the tune or melodies myself. After that, I haven’t stopped composing, singing & making my own songs.

How would you describe your music?
My music is based on my melodies that are inspired by songs I hear or out of nowhere I found this beautiful melody from my own heart. My music is general. Jazz, Punk Rock, Pop & at times oldies style. Including Christian songs.

What would you say is your recording and songwriting style?
My recording & songwriting style will be connected with the melody. When I find one, I write lyrics that are suitable for the melody & easy for me to sing or pronounce. Basically, it’s general. It’s based on my mood actually or at times what I saw & how I’m feeling.

Where would you like to see your music career in 5 years time?
As to where I would like to see my music career in 5 years will be heard & recognized all over the world. Played on the radios in each country in the world or perhaps do a concert (if God is willing)

Where can music fans listen to your music?
My fans & those who want to check my songs can listen to my songs on youtube. I also have my CD Album in hard copy but it’s sold in my city Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia only unless a big production house wants to produce it massively & promote or sell it throughout the world I’m willing to cooperate.
